Seconda puntata sui Bigs del Tango - Oggi parliamo e vediamo Carlos Gavito e Marcela Duran, una coppia che ha dato il meglio di se nella carriera per rappresentare il Tango nel mondo del cinema, del teatro e di tanti palcoscenici nel mondo. Carlos mori di cancro a Luglio del 2005, a Buenos Ayres, mentre Marcela ancora danza nei più prestigiosi teatri della danza moderna. Tutti ricordiamo il lento progredire della malattia di Carlos che, nonostante fosse in non perfette condizioni, mai si è ritirato o mai ha declinato un appuntamento con la sua danza.

In 1956 he started to dance in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In 1974 he worked with Juan Carlos Copes. He also traveled the world with his dance company and his dance partner and wife, Helen Gavito, who qualified at the Scottish Royal Ballet School. In 1995, he went to dance with Forever Tango, However, Helen was not invited to join him, as the Director of Forever Tango wanted only Argentinian dancers - which she was not. Throughout the 1990s, he was part of Forever Tango which played in eight US West Coast cities, increasing viewers' interest in learning how to dance the tango. Gavito was the only English-speaker in the company. Gavito's ultimate rise to fame came from his starring appearances in Forever Tango. 

Second part about Bigs of Tango - Today we talk and we see Carlos Gavito and Marcela Duran, a couple who gave the best of themselves in the career to represent the Tango in film, theater and many stages in the world. Carlos died of cancer in July 2005, in Buenos Ayres, while still Marcela dances in the most prestigious theaters of modern dance. We all remember the slow progress of Carlos disease that, although it was not in perfect condition, never retired or he never declined an appointment with her dance.

Oggi vogliamo ricordare, con alcuni differenti posts, i grandi del Tango, sia passati che attuali. Questo per permettere ai giovani emergenti campioni nel mondo, di avere una prospettiva coerente tra passato, presente e futuro della danza più famosa della storia, assieme al Flamenco.

Cominciamo con Juan Carlos Copes, artista unico nel suo genere, che ha lasciato le piste da ballo lo scorso Giugno per limiti di età. Vi lasciamo in compagnia di qualche suo passaggio della vita artistica, quasi sempre passata con Carlos Saura, uno dei migliori registi per il Tango ed il Flamenco films.

Today we want to remember, with some different posts, the big of Tango, whether past or present. This is to enable young emerging champions in the world, to have a coherent perspective of past, present and future of the most popular dance of the story, along with the Flamenco.

Let's start with Juan Carlos Copes, the only artist of its kind, which left the dance floors last June for reasons of age. We leave in the company of some of his passages of the artistic life, almost always pass with Carlos Saura, one of the best directors for the Tango and Flamenco films.

Dunque, il perchè si va a fare Tango lo abbiamo visto, cosa si deve indossare ne abbiamo discusso, dove andare pure; come sia fatta una scuola di tango lo avete letto, chi siano i maestri pure, allora non rimane che andare a ballare ciò che abbiamo visto insieme. Rimaneva da vedere come un docente di danza deve insegnare ma, come è facile capire, questo è materialmente impossibile: ogni maestro di danza ha il suo metro di misura e metodo di insegnamento e tali vanno rispettati da tutti, sia allievi che altri docenti, esperti o meno, perchè danzare è arte e non esiste un metodo per l'arte che senti dentro. Sarebbe come dire che Raffaello avrebbe dovuto seguire certi dogmi per poter esprimere la sua arte!

Ora godetevi questi 20 minuti di un video del nostro amico e Maestro  Angel Miguel Zotto che, a Milano, ha dato origine, con la sua compagna di vita e di danza Daiana Guspero, ad uno spettacolo di eleganza e simpatia all'interno dell'ex Teatro Smeraldo, ove ora sorge Eataly.

So, why do we go to Tango we have seen, what you should wear we have discussed, to go as well; how it is made a tango school you read it, who are the masters as well, then all that remains is to dance what we have seen together. Come organizzare una scuola di Tango: terza parte - How to organize a Tango school: third part

Adesso, per ultimo, parliamo (brevemente) del docente che dirige la scuola di danza.

Premettiamo che non siamo giudici, per favore non capiate cose non vere! Siamo solo due persone che scambiano le proprie idee circa come deve essere una cosa secondo criteri imparati strada facendo e studiando.

Chi insegna danza, ma nel fatto specifico il Tango, dovrebbe essere una coppia o un singolo danzatore, che abbia avuto una sufficiente esperienza di danza, una sufficiente  dose di conoscenza teorica e storica, preparato culturalmente e capace di avere la calma di insegnare sia a persone cocciute, che a persone che capiscono tutto subito. In genere noi crediamo che un buon Maestro o Maestra di Tango non possa essere più giovane di 30-35 anni, e con un bagaglio di esperienza di almeno 10 anni di danza come ballerino/a. 

Il docente dovrebbe occuparsi anche della parte psicologica di coloro che chiedono di ricevere lezioni di danza. Spesso le persone sono volitive, ma timide e sentono complessi interiori che li portano a non continuare le lezioni.

Abbiamo notato, infatti, in alcuni docenti, questa peculiare difficoltà: il cliente paga, è vero, ma non paga solo la lezione, paga anche il contorno. E poi, se il cliente si sente accudito, fa aumentare la popolarità del docente che assume così un ruolo sociale di elevato prestigio.

Now, finally, we speak (briefly) about the  teacher who runs the dance school.

We premise that we are not judges, please do not understand things are not true! We're just two people who exchange their ideas about how to be a thing, according on what learned criteria from the road and studying.

Who teaches dance, but in the specific fact the Tango, should be a couple or a single dancer, who has had enough of dance experience, a sufficient dose of theoretical and historical knowledge, culturally prepared and able to have the calm to teach both people stubborn, that people who understand everything at once. Generally, we believe that a good Master or Mistress of Tango cannot be younger than 30-35 years, and with a wealth of experience of at least 10 years of dance as a dancer.

The teacher should also deal with the psychological part of those who ask to receive dance lessons. Often people are volitional, but shy and feel inner complexes that lead them to not continue the lessons.

We noticed, in fact, in some teachers, this peculiar difficulty: the customer pays, it is true, but not only pays the lesson, also pays the outline. And then, if the customer feels cared for, it increases the popularity of the teacher that assumes a social role of high prestige.

Come Organizzare una scuola di Tango - How to organize a Tango school - Seconda Parte - Second Part

Parliamo oggi, brevemente,  della documentazione di una scuola di danza (Tango) in chiave moderna e quasi "ISO", ovvero certificata in qualità e garanzia. Sebbene le nostre siano solo teorie (ma basate sulla esperienza vissuta) che possono servire a chi vuole aprire una scuola di ballo, certi punti sono stati scritti in base a quanto letto in taluni documenti editi dalla Federazione Internazionale di Danza.
1)Certificato di abilitazione dei locali ove viene insegnata la danza, redatto dalle Pubbliche Amministrazioni ove la scuola risiede: serve a dimostrare alla Pubblica Sicurezza e Polizia Tributaria che i locali sono stati controllati da Pompieri e Sicurezza e che la attività è regolarmente registrata come tale.
2)Certificato di assicurazione e prevenzione incendio, con piani di emergenza in caso di fuoco o altro accidente.
3)Dichiarazione fiscale del diritto di autore per l'utilizzo della musica, con diritti riservati, durante le lezioni (musica in luogo pubblico)
4)Certificazione di abilitazione all'insegnamento della danza, redatto dalle Pubbliche Amministrazioni di dove la scuola risiede
5)Statuto della Scuola di Danza, ove venga evidenziato e notarizzato che nei locali viene insegnata danza e a quale livello
6)Regolamento della scuola
7)Registro allievi e frequenza
8)Registro cassa

Today we talk, briefly, about the documentation of a dance school (Tango) in a modern, almost "ISO", ie certified quality and guarantee. Although  if our theories are only theories (but based on living experience) that can serve those who want to open a dance school, certain points have been written based on what they read in certain documents published by the International Federation of Dance.

1) A certificate that enables the rooms where is teaching dance, prepared by Public Administrations where the school resides: it will demonstrate to the Public Security and tax police that the premises have been checked by Fire and Safety and that the activity is duly registered as per that activity.

2) Certificate of Security and fire prevention, with contingency plans in case of fire or other accident.

3) Tax Declaration of copyright for the use of music, with reserved rights, during class (music in a public place)

4) Certification of teaching dancing, prepared by Public Administrations where the school resides

5) Statute of the School of Dance, where is highlighted and notarized that the premises is teaching dance and at what level
